O1: Guidelines on medical curriculum standardization

  • This output covers the compilation of set of guidelines to inform how to standardize medical curriculum in accordance with the Medbiquitous specifications: (i) How to standardize medical curriculum in accordance with the Medbiquitous specifications. (ii) Overview of existing systems including the structure of the curriculum management system Ilios. (iii) Preparation of state-of-the-art in health care standards used in health professions education.

O2: The implementation of proposed standards into the OPTIMED platform

  • This output covers the exemplar implementation and embedding Medbiquitous standards into the OPTIMED platform. Technical aspects describing data structures, conceptual and entity-relationship models and formats of imported data, are presented here.

O3: Guidelines on medical curriculum standardization including extended ICT platform for medical curriculum harmonization

  • This output covers the preparation of comprehensive assessment study of proposed guidelines, best practice and standardized portal extension. It also endeavours to improve understanding of the modern curriculum innovation trends in medical education and delivers these methods to the wide community of educators and students across MEFANET, and all involved partners including short and regular paper writing.

O4: Advanced methodology for systematic analysis, evaluation and mapping of medical curricula

  • This output covers the design and development of a web-based platform, which is based on the proven methodological and technological background providing analytical and data mining methods for an effective harmonization, evaluation and mapping of medical curriculum. .

O5: Analysis, evaluation, mapping and comparison of medical curricula

  • This output covers curriculum comparison module introduction including a description of three curriculum imports of involved partners. This module aspires to become a general online tool for medical curriculum comparison across various curriculum management systems and will be available for the global using.

O6: Module testing and assessment & Promotion endeavour

  • This document covers in-depth testing during pilot evaluation on the real medical curriculum data and in-depth testing during pilot comparison of two various medical curricula. It also includes dissemination of methodological background and promotion of new web-oriented medical curriculum tool to the wide community of educators and students across MEFANET, MedBiquitous and all involved partners.
